Workplace Learning

We are a group of 10 students who are studying the Graduate Diploma in Vocational and Workplace Learning at the University of Sydney (UTS). As part of our course we are undertaking the subject “The Practice of Workplace Learning 2″, guided by our lecturer Laraine Spindler.

This subject extends the developmental strategies encountered in Workplace Practice 1. It uses an action learning/action research methodology to support participant’s capabilities as developers, presenters, managers and supporters of learning goals and functions within particular settings. The subject continues the use of a range of learning processes including reflective practice, negotiated learning and mentoring. Leigh,E “The Practice of Workplace Learning 2: Subject Outline” UTS, 2006

As part of this subject we are required to plan, conduct and evaluate a 4 hour workshop that demonstrates our teaching, training and facilitation practice. We decided to run a workshop on the 22 November 2006, titled “Learning without borders”. The workshop is still very much in the planning stage but we propose to use this blog as a journal of our activities, a forum for developing our ideas, a place to prepare participants before the workshop and a place to post the outcomes of the workshop.

So come along for the ride!
