‘Internet Sheriff’ is (as I understand it) a program that filters internet material for possible offensive or illegal material. Its a ‘brand name’ for a program that TAFE / DET uses in NSW.

I quite amusingly got the “internet Sheriff” warning window recently when trying to book a ticket on ‘Virgin Blue’ airlines from TAFE.

So, you can see how it is intended to work – even though sometimes it is triggered by innocent requests.
